The Feed Report

2013 → 2017

My food blog. I know nothing about food, but I visited and reviewed hundreds of Adelaide's fanciest restaurants anyway. My absurd reportage and brutally honest reviews earned me a few hundred visitors per day.

I was the #2 food blogger in Adelaide (Urbanspoon Top Bloggers 2015). During this time, I was approached on numerous occasions in public, and asked about the site.

Pegaweb Web Design & Photoshop Tutorials

2002 → 2010

This site teaches beginners how to use Adobe Photoshop.

At its peak, Pegaweb was one of the top Photoshop sites on the internet, with around 1.5 million people visiting it each year. The internet was a much smaller place, and everything was just a static website of text and pictures. There was no video, and most people were still on dial-up. If you wanted to learn how to use Photoshop from the internet, you had to read tutorials written by me and a few dozen other amateurs, each running our own creative websites. I knew very little about Photoshop, but I was very good at teaching these absolute basics, which is what most people wanted to learn.

Website Setup Guide

2009 → 2019

This site showed beginners how to create a website. It received 3.8 million visitors, but is now obsolete. In its heyday of 2012-13, it provided a very simple instruction manual for the many people who wanted to set up websites, but couldn't navigate domain names, web hosting, and web design. Later, websites written in HTML were obsoleted by systems like WordPress, and blogs began to replace websites. Both of these are now a much smaller part of the web, having been largely replaced by social media.
